Indian textile manufacturers are increasingly modernizing shedding systems to handle high-speed apparel production amid expanding export demand. Swiss machinery manufacturer Stäubli is introducing its S3292 rotary dobby at India ITME 2026, targeting domestic denim and high-volume fabric producers looking to scale output without compromising mechanical longevity.
High-speed dobby engineering optimizes air-jet mill operations
The newly developed S3292 dobby operates at speeds up to 1,200 rpm and accommodates up to 12 harness frames, specifically engineered for air-jet looms. By optimizing frame movement dynamics, the system reduces mechanical friction, extending heddle lifespan and lowering operating downtime for high-stress denim weaving. Complementing the dobby, Stäubli's S1792 cam motion reaches speeds up to 1,400 rpm across 10 frames for basic fabric structures.
Automation and digitalization address capacity demands
Domestic weaving operations face tightening delivery windows and frequent style variations. In response, mills are integrating automated preparation systems like the Safir Pro s47 drawing-in system, which processes up to 190 ends per minute using Active Warp Control 2.0. Long-term machinery users report significant operational gains. Running equipment continuously year-round requires exceptional mechanical resilience, which directly preserves our margins and delivery timelines, states Ajay Arora, Managing Director, D'Decor Home Fabrics.
Maintaining strong financials across operations
Stäubli supplies high-performance shedding systems, jacquard machinery, and automated warp preparation technologies to global textile manufacturers. Focusing on major industrial weaving markets, the Swiss group plans to expand digital maintenance tools and domestic servicing channels. Operating for over 130 years, Stäubli maintains strong financial performance across its global operations.
