Global fashion brands accelerating supply chain diversification away from single-country risks are boosting order volumes for multi-region apparel manufacturers. In Q1 FY27, India's largest listed garment exporter, Pearl Global Industries (PGIL), recorded a 24.5 per cent Y-o-Yrevenue increase to Rs 1,528 crore, shipping a record 20.8 million pieces.

The company’s consolidated EBITDA margins reached a peak 10.7 per cent, supported by operating leverage and favorable product mix across its manufacturing bases in India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Guatemala. Global brands continue to consolidate sourcing with partners offering multi-country manufacturing capabilities, notes Pulkit Seth, Vice-Chairman, Pearl Global, pointing to the structural advantage of cross-border manufacturing platforms during periods of regional trade disruption.

Targeted capacity additions capture trade agreement upside

To absorb rising Western retail demand ahead of anticipated trade pacts - including the India-UK and India-EU free trade agreements - apparel manufacturers are scaling production infrastructure. Pearl Global is completing capital projects in Bangladesh alongside automated laundering facilities, scheduled for inauguration in September, adding 7 million pieces to raise total annual capacity to 108 million pieces. Strategic investments in nearshore Guatemala units and Southeast Asian facilities position multinational suppliers to capture market share as global fashion retailers optimize vendor bases.

Targeting sustained double-digit revenue growth

Founded in 1987, Pearl Global Industries Limited manufactures woven, knit, denim, and outerwear garments for major global fashion retailers across the US, Europe, and Asia. Operating 25 production facilities across five countries, the company is expanding annual capacity toward 108 million pieces, targeting sustained double-digit revenue growth on a multi-region manufacturing platform.
