Adidas Originals launches sneaker collection with NGO Parley for the Oceans

Global sports brand Adidas Originals has teamed up a non-profit organization Parley for the Oceans to launch a collection of iconic sneaker models including the Superstar, the Stan Smith, the Nice and the Forum, etcto help offer our planet a better future.

As per a Spin Off report, the collection is made from a yarn containing at least 50 per cent Parley Ocean Plastic, obtained from recycled plastic waste collected from remote islands, coastal regions and beaches. The other 50 per cent of the yarn is made from recycled polyester. The collection combines style and progress and is just one of the innovations that reflect Adidas' commitment to the fight against plastic waste.

The centre pieces of the collections are two reworked interpretations of the iconic Nice silhouette: the Nice Parley Hi and the Nice Parley Lo styles. Both shoes are made of wrapped webbing that has been assembled layer by layer to minimize the production process. Each sneaker is finished in simple black and white and created with the aim to set a new step in order to give waste a new life.
